Setting up Google Analytics Widgets
The Google Analytics widgets allow you to connect your Google Analytics account to Ellington and see quick useful information about your analytics inside your Ellington Admin.
Connecting Your Analytics account to Ellington.
Follow the steps below to set up your Google Analytics account synchronization with the Ellington Admin:
- Login to your Google account at https://console.cloud.google.com/
- Go to: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/api/analyticsdata.googleapis.com
- Follow the instructions to enable Google Analytics Data API Access on your account.
- From the project explorer at the top, make sure you have your project selected, OR create a new project using the button in the top right.
- Once a project is created, click on Credentials on the left and NEW CREDENTIALS at the top. Then select OAuth Client ID from the list as shown below.
6. Fill out the data like in the example below with your domain name instead of demo.ellingtoncms.com:
7. On the credentials list download the recently created credential:
8. download the JSON file and place it in the root of your sites' FTP directory named client_secrets.json and/or send it to your project manager via basecamp.
Create a new OAuth consent screen and fill out the first form with your data.
On the Scopes step, click the ADD OR REMOVE SCOPES button.
On the right side on the search filter type "Google Analytics Data API" and enable the three values displayed. Then click SAVE AND CONTINUE.
Go to your google analytics page and send us the ID for the site you want to track, or ids for all the sites on your properties to track.
After that and the setup from the Ellington team you should be able to enable Google Analytics related widgets on the Ellington Admin.
